If you own a house with a chimney and fireplace, you should have it cleaned and inspected regularly. We are a locally owned and operated, full-service chimney company that has been servicing Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire for almost 2 decades.
We make sure that soot does not get into your home and that you know if your fireplace and chimney are safe to use.
Every time you use your fireplace, soot (creosote) is created and deposited on the inside of your chimney as the smoke travels up the flue. As that substance cools it solidifies and results in a caked on layer that will build up use after use. Creosote is made up of particles from the wood and is incredibly flammable. After enough creosote builds up, it can ignite and launch a fast-spreading, dangerous chimney fire. We will remote this creosote and leave your chimney and fireplace clean and ready for use. At the same time, we will inspect the fireplace and chimney and make sure there are no additional hazards.
The Chimney Safety Institute of America recommends that a chimney that is used regularly be professionally cleaned about once a year. It is best if this cleaning and inspection is performed after the last fire you burn for the season to make sure there are no problems or blockages that have developed before you burn again. A chimney blocked by debris can cause major problems including inefficient heating, smoke buildup inside your home, deadly carbon monoxide buildup in your home and even a dangerous chimney fire.
We recommend spring or summer cleanings as if you wait til late fall, you may have to wait several weeks for an appointment and start to use your fireplace when there are hazardous conditions present.
Here are a few rules of thumb for knowing when it’s time to have your chimney and fireplace cleaned and inspected:
Our chimney technicians will remove the dangerous creosote deposits that build up within your chimney and fireplace. These deposits are highly flammable and can lead to a dangerous chimney fire (up to 2000 *F).
We have been performing chimney cleaning, inspection and repair services since 2003.
